I bought this product to teach my kids the basics of hand sewing. Advantages: 1. Plastic needles included, as well as real ones. It was great to start the kids off with safe needles that won't prick their fingers.2. The bag that came with the kit was durable.3. A simple visual guide on a piece of paper for any project. This gives you the choice of sewing methods.5. Projects are gender neutral .6. Projects are easy - 8 years of sewing without much help. Disadvantages1. You need to sew on the eyes/features and they are tiny.2. I would say that the filling included in the kit is harmful to health! It looks like the stuffing of the toy is made out of something artificial, not real wool or cotton. I didn't notice it at first, but when I had the tablet on my lap when I was stuffing the animal, I noticed that a lot of small particles and pieces of the minced meat had broken off. And I only took a small amount of filler. That worries me. It reminded me of asbestos snow. Of course, hopefully this filling isn't asbestos, but I don't think it's safe at all. Both children and adults can easily inhale or swallow these particles from the filling. Also, after touching the padding, the skin on my arm became oddly dry and uncomfortable, as if I had touched a harsh detergent. I ended up keeping half-finished projects away from the kids.
