If you're looking for the perfect placement of handles/knobs or drawers/cabinets with unusual proportions, skip this option and buy something with real customization. However, if your main goal is to do a moderate amount of jerking without too much effort, this set of templates will work just fine. With the included drill bit, all you need besides this kit and your hardware is an electric drill, a tape measure (to find the center of your drawers), and something to mark the holes. For the drawer template, the hole sets are spaced about 1/2" apart vertically and extend down about 4". So if you need to hit the exact vertical center of your drawer or have drawer tops that are over 8 inches high, this product may not meet your needs. /4 inches true center height is perfectly normal. However, you will need to find and mark the horizontal center point of your drawer to place the template correctly. From there, simply line up the template with the center mark you made on the top edge of the drawer, mark the desired holes on the front, and move on to the next drawer. The closet template is also very easy to use. It rests against the corner of the cabinet door, and then you can choose how far you want to install the handle from the edge of the door with sets of holes spaced about 1/4 inch apart. Here's the main con: All sets of holes start 1.5 inches from the vertical stop on the template. Assuming you are mounting the bars on the bottom of a closet door, the bottom handle hole will always be 1.5 inches from the bottom edge of the door (and vice versa if you are mounting the top of a closet door). For your typical cabinet door, this is a fairly typical installation location, but be aware that there is no easy way to set this up on this template. There are a few slits on the cabinet door template that you could use to customize installation locations, but to be honest this product doesn't add any value at this point and you can just make your own light fixture. Place it on the edge of the door and mark the holes, otherwise you could bend it without much effort. 3/16 inch tip drill bit available at hardware store.
