Review on CURT 60712 Gooseneck 16 Inch Silverado by Jun Merritt

Strong grip. Check thread before installation

I've never written a review before but maybe I'll save someone some time. I'm a heavyweight mechanic and have been tinkering my whole life. Can you do it on a Saturday, you want to do it with limited experience and a basic set of tools, maybe not. I wish I had assembled everything before installing it, but I didn't. Had to remove and clean the threads on the front and rear crossbars (plan to buy a 1/2-way tap if you don't already have a set), it was also missing hardware, but luckily I had everything I needed to complete the installation my shop. Also, the 3/4 bolts should be torqued to 380 ft.lbs, which again considers a 380 torque wrench a specialty tool. After installation, I noticed that the side mounting plates have a slight kink and the center of the coupling, where the ball is located, rests lightly on the fuel tank. Overall it looks like a strong setup and I don't expect any further problems. Kurt wasn't very helpful which sucks because I've spent thousands on their products but I'm sure Revane will do their best to help. For the price I would consider buying again.
