To cover metal pipes

I used 1"31" heat shrink tubing to cover a 3/4" diameter painted tube used as a kitchen towel warmer. The gloss painted tube was too smooth so the towels slipped off too easily.I had to use a lot of heat with a heat gun to get this tube to gently shrink around the metal tube but eventually it took shape smoothly. This polyolefin heat shrink tubing gives the towel warmer a surface that is much less slippery is painted finish than the original. I first tried this idea with the clear version of this heat shrink tubing, but it didn't work. After heating the material to attach the metal tube in it, there were a few unsightly air bubbles left under the clear heat shrink tubing .The black version of the heat shrink tubing can also be used trap air bubbles but they are not visible and finished surface looks good.
