Large size, easy cleaning. But EDIT: 7/10/2019

Bought this as an upgrade to a standard size box from the same manufacturer when we got a second cat. This really saves time! No need to scoop and look for lumps. Just pick up and drop. I use a large thin disposable plastic insert between the strainer and the bottom bowl. There is no mess when you put the dirty floor on the second floor. Plus: * Bigger size, more space for cats * Maybe * A little less trash thrown out of the box * Clips and door are kept from the old one for future replacements! Cons: * Same thick plastic as in the smaller box but more brittle construction * More filler needs to be used or the layer is too thin to clump and clean effectively so it weighs a ton >>>> EDIT: 2019 -07 -10 to a starToday the box made a loud bang when I picked it up to clean. The top was bent when lifted but cracked today. It was delivered on 14.5, so about two months a day. Then I noticed that the top was cracked on one side and similar stress cracks on the other corner. I had a feeling this might be possible as the box is larger but the plastic is the same thickness as the smaller version so much thinner. For the big/half big box version, the plastic should be half the thickness. Bad design or poor choice based only on the end result. I'm planning to make a wooden frame/cross braces that I can screw into the top to distribute the load from the handle and better support the lid. I think I can squeeze out a few more months before I have to buy the smaller, more powerful version again. IIRC, the smaller one, lasted just over two years.

Pros
  • Great overall
Cons
  • Minor issues
