Review on Enhance Your Vehicle's Braking Performance with ACDelco Silver 14473B Bonded Rear Drum Brake Shoe Set by Todd Vesci

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent price. and perfect fit.

I paid about $12 for them just before Revain bumped the price to about $30 and they go perfectly with my 1990 Chevy K2500 pickup. AC-Delco 18K560 Springs However, the ACDelco 18K560 rear brake spring kit was missing the spring that mounts to the actuating arm and the springs for the lever and strut return springs. although all clamps and clips were included. I was reading reviews of the Dorman HW7046 drum brake kit and gave up because someone claimed that not all the required springs/retainers were included in their 1988 Suburban. So if you're replacing springs, you probably won't have enough of them. I had the Chilton & Haynes manual and none of them helped me put it back together. I'm not a mechanic so the pictures mean a lot to me and I'm glad I took a few before taking it all apart. Even with the photos I managed to put the pads on incorrectly and had to take them off and start over. The front pad is smaller than the rear, so compare it to what's already installed first. Also, my instructions told me to back off the adjustment screw. What do you have to do to turn the drum back on? and then tighten it until the wheel spins, then loosen it a full turn. It was then said that if the brake pedal is depressed too hard you will need to adjust the screw in the access hole as your drum and tire are now back in place. There are no access holes on my truck, however, and I found as I read on that they adjust themselves, but only when the car is in reverse and the pedal is depressed. good to know if you don't already know. The pads fit, hence 5 stars.
