I started looking for a similar product after my student burned her hand on a curling iron. After reading reviews of several gloves I decided to try this pair. I found these gloves to fit both her delicate hands and my mother's large hands. To test its effectiveness, I let the curling iron heat up and then "reached" the heated barrel. I could feel heat building in my gloves, but I had enough time to withdraw my hand. That means these aren't oven mitts. You can't take a 450 F pot and bring it to the dining room.
