Review on πŸ“Έ SVP PS4100: Portable Handheld Scanner for Color and Mono Scanning – 600DPI by Owen Phi

Fantastic scanner! good for document scanner

Of course I have a smartphone app that I can use to scan documents and convert them to PDF. The app has started deleting my scanned images. It may be a coincidence, but I was also told to upgrade to Pro for $4.99/month. Not wanting to pay $60 a year for mobile scanning, I chose this SVP scanner. The price and features made the offer a good deal for me (I believe the prices of these scanners have come down due to smartphone app scanners). Benefits1. The LCD screen (although tiny, allows you to check the quality of the scan without connecting to a computer, for me this was a deciding factor.) Tip: press the preview button and you can enlarge the image! 2. Uses 2 AA batteries (easily available anywhere in the world)3. Scans to PDF or JPEG4. Comes with OCR software (I don't really need it, but it's there)5. The intuitive menu allows you to time, date, auto power on/off, delete files, select file format and adjust scan quality6. Resolution 300, 600 and 900 dpi, color or b/w.7. Scans quickly even at high resolution. Disadvantages1. There is no built-in memory. (Must have a micro SD card inserted, doesn't matter to me) When transferring scanned images to a computer, you can either remove the micro SD card or use the included USB cable and connect it to the computer . Your computer treats the scanner like a flash drive. Again, it's perfect for the price and features.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine
