Beautiful watercolor sketchbook with a negative

Media could not be loaded. EDIT: Having used this more extensively, I really want to reiterate how terrible it is for blending. I'm really wondering if I somehow got a dud or something. but it's really terrible. If you care about mixing at all, please don't buy this. The paint dries on paper within 1-2 seconds and after that you cannot move or mix the paint. It's really weird and I've never seen watercolor paper like this before. I was very excited to try this watercolor sketchbook as I have tried and liked some other Creative Mark products. I used watercolor and gouache on this paper and tried different techniques. Size: I took 5.5 x 5.5 inches and I really liked the compact size. I have found that I can fit several small drawings on one page or fill a page with a painting/landscape drawing. Texture: The texture surprised me at first because it didn't remind me of other printing papers I've tried. To be honest, I really like the texture. Reminds me of a cotton towel. I know it sounds weird, but that's the best way I can describe it in my head, haha. Texture is important to me as I have found that it affects how I feel when approaching a painting. (I find I put off painting if I don't like the texture of the paper.) The texture of this paper feels attractive and inquiring. (Maybe I'm just dramatizing the texture) Quality: The notebook feels good and is the same as other watercolor hardcover albums. He has a group that keeps this book closed, which is always helpful. Sometimes I use it as a bookmark as there is no bookmark attached to it. It also has a small folder on the back where you can store some small items. In Use: The ink looks bright and blends well with the paper. It flowers and grows well too. I've also found that I can achieve a very soft texture by working wet-on-wet. When I did a run/flower test (shown with purple, pink and blue color) I saw that the color actually spreads out a bit out of the water. It was quite interesting and could help create some fun effects. Disadvantage: This has a small disadvantage. and it's a mix. As soon as the ink hits the paper, whether wet-on-dry or wet-on-wet, it appears to soak up instantly. In fact, she doesn't move at all. When painting, I rely heavily on mixing paint on paper. Well, I've encountered this problem quite often, especially when doing inclines with a controlled amount of water. This paper is not cotton, so it usually has a downside. I've tried several non-cotton sketchbooks (Stillman + Birn, Arteza) and this is by far my favorite. I'm deducting a star for mixing. I feel any watercolor paper should work better when blended. Conclusion (tldr): For a watercolor album without cotton, I like this one very much. The texture is nice, the color on it is bright, the color applies well, and it's just a beautiful sketchbook. I would say this checks all fields except Blending. If you want color to blend easily and can't stand it when color seeps in without moving, then this album isn't for you. If you're someone who doesn't really care or even prefers an unblended or scenic look, then I highly recommend this! I look forward to continuing to draw and fill in this album! (Overall: 4/5)
