I have a 2001 Winnebago Adventurer and this switch leaked gear oil. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out where that was and where the storage bottle was. Most mechanics said the reservoir is next to the switch but not in my case. It was a cloudy plastic bottle with a yellow cap on the hood, on the driver's side under a bunch of wires that made it hard to see. The switch location was inside the guide frame on the passenger side above the catalytic converter. Before the steps about 3 feet. Remove the 5 screws of the heating plate, then disconnect the electrical connector, do not lose the rubber seal on the connector. Make sure you clean the connector as it is most likely flooded with transmission oil. Then use the wrench on the switch nut and remove it. Some liquid will leak out, so quickly install a new switch. When you're done, make sure you fill up the tank and check for leaks. It's a quick job that can be done curbside, but you'll need to bring a piece of 4x4 wood to place under the passenger's jack to get the clearance you need to get under the RV. I also placed 2 six ton stationary jacks under the frame for safety. It's a really simple process when you're lifting the motorhome safely. The Chevy dealership charged $78 for the derailleur, which wasn't bad for a dealer, but the Truck Service Center charged $103 (a ripoff). Buy an extra switch to be ready if it fails again. Based on comments found on RV internet forums, most of them fail after around 35,000 miles. Much luck.
