This ink doesn't bleed very well from the pen, but flows well from the brush. They are nice and dark and look like typical sumi inks. They contain a small amount of shellac for added water resistance and I recommend mixing the ink before use. This ink contains camphor, calcium chloride and isothiazolinone. I have never had a problem with camphor and use camphor in granule form in topical creams. Isothiazolinones can cause allergic reactions in some people. I'm not one of them. I have had no problems using this ink indoors and have had no side effects from contact with my skin. Calcium chloride can dry out the skin or cause burns in the mouth or esophagus. So don't drink the ink I guess.
