Review on πŸš— EBC Brakes Yellowstuff DP41537R Street and Track Brake Pad - Enhance Vehicle Performance by Jonathan Devarapalli

Expensive mistake - difficult to break in and still not good after 700 miles

I thought this was a standard pad upgrade for my 2018 Brembo equipped BRZ. The OEM brakes worked the first 3,000 miles on the Road superb but this was my first time driving this car onto the track. The rotors were perfect, as were the original pads. The EBC replacement parts are sanded down with 40 grit sandpaper for some stupid reason, which should "land" them on the rotor. All it did was cut visible grooves into my perfectly flat rotors. EBC calls for 100 miles easy riding, 100 miles moderate riding, and then 10 hard stops from 60 to 20/10 mph with a mid-cooldown. I have followed all of these instructions to the letter. I went to the track that wasn't putting a lot of stress on the brakes so they seemed fine. But now that they've been used for 700 miles of suburban and "hard" riding, and even when warm, they have poorer bite and pedal feel than OEM Brembo pads. The rotors are not uniformly colored which to me suggests that the pads are not yet fully and evenly seated against them. The rotors look like the pads are glazed, as does the pedal. I plan to ride a little further, but I'm already buying replacement pads and discs. The EBC pads were a very expensive mistake. I will update this review if I see any improvement but for now I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Update: I replaced those pads and vitrified rotors. I do not recommend. dear mistake
