Review on πŸš— High-Quality 4-Layer Breathable Full Car Cover with Lock for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK/JL Unlimited 4-Door: RAMPAGE PRODUCTS 1204 – Grey by Alec Winsor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good fit, not quite 5 stars but close.

Used on 2013 Jeep Sahara Unlimited 4-Door (JKU). And to be honest, the fit of this boot was almost 'out of the box', except for a little baggy around the rear-mounted spare tire, which would be nice if you have oversized running shoes on your Jeep. I have the doors from my JKU and the aftermarket mirrors are attached to the windshield frame that sticks out of the car. The lid still fits snugly and closes the bodywork over the footpegs. You wouldn't call this case easy, which is both good and bad. The good thing is that the heavy stuff stays on your car. The bad thing is that the suitcase is damn big when folded, which is important if you take it with you in the car. Oh, and the package it comes pre-packaged in? Forget it. You will never waste time and effort putting it back together again. I use the nylon bag that came with the queen size air mattress. A large laundry bag or even a heavy garbage bag will also work. But certainly not Rampage's. Use it for something else. This is a good bag. Material - light gray non-woven polypropylene fabric with a lightly embossed waffle pattern on the top layer. It's a fairly common material for inexpensive cases like this, and while it's not waterproof, it's water-resistant, meaning heavy rain will get wet, but light rain or overnight dew won't. If you take the case off while it's still wet and fold it up, it will eventually take on a bad odor, so leave it open until it dries. I have had several car covers made from the same material over the years and they do not hold up to prolonged exposure to the sun which degrades the material. First the material starts to delaminate, and one day it just tears when you put it on or take it off. The nature of the beast, I suppose. I have had cases when covers made of this material were torn at the seams, which indicates poor quality of the threads. Time will tell on this car. Bottom Line: Rampage offers nothing more than a basic trunk for your Jeep. The fit is pretty good, and the included cable and lock are good if you live in California, where surfer dudes regularly steal car covers but usually go after the expensive ones. The nature of Polypro's inability to withstand ultraviolet radiation is mentioned, but all cases, except those made of Dacron canvas, suffer to some degree. It's a bit bulky when folded, which may or may not be a factor. As usual, the delivery of Revain Prime was of the highest quality. I paid 5€ extra and got it delivered the next day! Rampage offers a one-year warranty, which is probably not enough to support the cover's polypropylene fabric, which is prone to sun damage. If I get out from under the covers for 3 years, I'll be happy. As previously mentioned, a storage bag is best used for storing other items, not the case itself.
