This great value compression gauge has all the accuracy and features of a much more expensive caliber, including quick release and interchangeable thread sizes. Most importantly, it has a stripper valve on the screw-in spark plug tip to ensure accuracy is not lost. I measured this gauge with my old but good quality gauge on the same chainsaw motor and got the exact same reading (175psi) on both gauges. Interestingly, I only got 105psi when I quickly hooked up either this or my better gauge to a pipe from a cheaper gauge kit that didn't have a shredder valve on the working end. I got very low readings with this broken old kite and threw away the sensor but kept the tube. Turns out this cheap kit also had a problem with the hose as the fitting lacked a true shredder valve. Make sure any compression hose you use has a Schrader valve on the threaded end and an air pressure relief valve on the gauge end. Cheap pressure gauges only have a flapper valve and let pressurized air through. The best gauges (including this inexpensive one) have both a stock replacement Schrader valve and an exhaust valve. I saw a YouTube video describing this and didn't believe it. But believe me, this changes everything in the world.
