I know this is being described for a phone but I have a C054 base station with a CS540 headset and I can confirm it . allows to work as Windows USB headset. The headset has an idle timer and turns itself off after a while, but still beeps when a call comes in. Just turn the headset back on with the button and it works fine. It may be necessary to go into the device settings and make sure this is the default value, but in my case this wasn't necessary.
