Internet went down and required a restart Every day

IF this router works, it's fast. However, if you don't have time to restart it multiple times a day and spend hours on a Netgear-enabled phone, buy something else. I spent hours on the phone with Netgear support, usually several times a week. Finally, they upgraded me to Service Level 2, which apparently means you don't have to wait that long on the phone before speaking to anyone, but still plan on spending at least 30 minutes per call with technical experts. At first they made all sorts of changes to my computer remotely, which makes me nervous, but when you've invested so much in a router you wish it could last more than a few hours at a time. After months of not being able to fix the problem, Netgear sent me a replacement router. Note, not a new router. THE BOX LEFT A BENT CLIP THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER USED TO RESET! The Netgear guys weren't as excited about it as I was. They were sure that this one wouldn't keep losing internet like the last one. Unfortunately, they were wrong. So I went back to my frequent and long phone calls with technicians. I've tried everything they suggested and I've tried everything I've seen in various reviews here - I've bought a fan just for the router, I've bought a new modem. Nothing worked and the router kept dropping the internet and had to be restarted at least once a day but usually more than 3-5 times a day. After working with Netgear support for 10 months with no resolution, I reluctantly gave up. and bought Asus. So far so good with Asus. Save yourself a lot of time, money and headaches and skip Netgear.
