Now I'm grown up and wear braces. Cleaning your braces after eating is hard work. My orthodontist started putting on loops. Pooh. After I whined and complained, she gave me a sample of dental floss. I have tried different brands of dental floss and decided this is the best for me. It comes first in a plastic box. This is useful because the floss sits neatly together in the bathroom drawer. The end that slides under the wire of your braces seems to be a bit thinner because it definitely slides under the wire a bit easier than some other brands I've tried. Or maybe it will be manufactured to tighter tolerances. The floss thread itself is strong. I haven't had any problems with wear and tear. The middle part is wide, which gives me the best support. Finally, the opposite end is in the form of a pickaxe. Some brands have a soft, ribbed pick. They work well, but it seems to me that the hard, pointed plastic curve brings out the food better than the softer, ribbed one. The first time I used them I pulled asparagus strands from my wires and was so happy with how well they worked. It would be funny to see how happy I was. This is an amazing product and I'm glad I have another fifteen months to try it myself before I take these braces off!
