Review on Moog K8709 Caster Adjusting Bushing by Michael Radhakrishnan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It made John.

I purchased this product because my F150 lateral caster was offset 1.5 degrees which caused the truck to pull to the right. I received the bushings and they came with two sets of instructions. Looking through the manual I noticed that the alpha number charts were reversed from each other, perhaps overseeing the right hand drive trucks? Once the correct layout was figured out, the jacks were numbered for installation. Comparing the factory bushings to this one, I noticed that the ball joint pin angle was completely different, but the bottom hole position was the same as the factory bushing. Installing new adjustable bushings found the root angle of the ball joint stud and pointed the tip of the stud towards the coil spring, making installing the nut a bit difficult. After we reassembled and aligned everything, the caster was within 0.3 degrees and the opposite side was slightly more, and the camber stayed pretty close to what it was originally. The truck drives pretty straight now, which is about all I can ask for from such a stupid hub. If I had unlimited access to a trueing machine, I would prefer solid one-piece bushings like the factory ones. The big difference between the two jacks is that the original had an integrated pull-out lip, but this one didn't. This bushing can be difficult to remove after a while. I've posted an installation video on YouTube and can be found by typing in "Caster/Camber Bushing at f150 Alignment". Much luck.
