Disclaimer - I'm not a gamer so I can't provide any information on the performance of this monitor for this purpose. However, I can tell you that this is an absolute dream. The instruction manual, if you can call it that, had no words, just an idea of what needs to be done to assemble it, but it's easy to see how the parts are made, what goes where. I assembled it and put it on my desktop in less than 10 minutes. (By the way, you need a screwdriver to attach the base to the monitor). I chose this product over all other big screens because I can choose the split screen. I'm a college professor and to be able to open Zoom in one corner, PowerPoint in another, and even open other documents without having to flip back and forth is great. Note that you'll need to go to LG's website and download the split screen drivers (which took me a few minutes to figure out, even after looking at the user guide on LG's website). From there it's easy. There is a monitor icon in the upper right corner. Click on it and choose from a variety of split screen themes. In terms of color, light, etc., I was completely satisfied with it immediately after purchase. To reach them, there is a small switch on the bottom of the monitor, right in the middle. Switch one way for the menu, another for gaming, and a third for turning off the monitor. The menu functions are easy to understand and the online manual explains page by page what each function does. And yes, there is an eye strain reduction feature. This makes the screen pretty dim, but you can adjust the brightness and block it. I didn't really change anything in terms of color, sharpness, etc. But I don't do professional photography - mostly documents and some graphic design, but I have the ability to have it all in front of me - full size - so an upgrade goes hand in hand with a smaller monitor. You can also set presets for movies, games, etc. The sound is great - I had to "join" a Zoom meeting of 100 people and move away from my desk, and I could hear everyone clearly from 25 feet away. Actually it was too loud. I have yet to play music, so I'm not sure about the depth of this sound quality, but you can change the base, treble, etc. I'm more than happy with the sound. I have a high end MAC laptop and the sound from the monitor is much better. I only wish it had a camera as I have to buy a separate camera/mic (I keep my MAC covered when I connect it to a monitor). So if you're looking for a relatively cheap, big-screen multitasking monitor, this is it. Look no further!. One last question - as a previous reviewer said, make sure someone is home on the day of delivery. The monitor is shipped in a retail box that uniquely identifies the contents of the box. If you live in an area where people are tempted to steal packages this might be what you are looking for as the box looks like a big screen TV.
