*****UPDATE (12/10/2016): I still love this amazing monitor (my wife does too!). I decided to reuse my old standard width monitor as a second display ABOVE this monitor (why not? LOL) and found that any dual vertical desktop stand that supports standard width monitors up to 27" will also fit 34" extra wide may they be the same actual height (I previously pulled my hair out looking for a '34' double vertical stand but couldn't find one - find out!) Hope this helps You."All!***** This monitor is AWESOME! At under $400 (currently $349!), you can't go wrong with this ultrawide beast unless you're using an inexpensive graphics card (great! worked with my GTX 960.) When I first looked at ultrawide monitors , I've done all sorts of research and wish I had $1,300 for an Acer Predator X34 back then ($1,230 now) because that monitor had a 3440 x 1440 resolution (this LG 34UM68-P only has a 2560 x 1080 resolution , but is still absolutely gorgeous.) I thought I needed a curve to get a better experience of the Predator X34---postponing that dream for at least a year or two. So I bought this monitor instead, honestly thinking it was "normal". But when it arrived and I installed it, I was overjoyed. This monitor has got me playing more games now than I have in the last 10 years or more. It's so good I bought a SECOND one for my wife. Everyone has different preferences for monitors, but here are some of my discoveries with this monitor: 1) I don't care about curved monitors anymore. Serious! For performance reasons (I work with Excel a lot) curved monitors distort horizontal lines/spreadsheets to look weird and bad IMO. So much so that I'm not sure I'll ever want a Predator X34 in the future. Lesson learned: I'm sticking with ultra-wide FLAT monitors and strongly encourage others to do so if you use your PC for both gaming and work. If your computer is just for gaming (mine clearly isn't), then you'll probably appreciate a curved monitor. 2) I heard that there is currently no graphics card on the market that can handle 3440x1440 games. at ultra-high settings (although I've also read that NVidia gets closer to 1080 depending on the game). This is because when you go from 2560 x 1080 to 3440 x 1440, there are literally almost twice as many pixels. Since I never buy modern graphics cards when they first come out (I usually wait a year or two for the price to go down), this means that I will most likely get a 3440x1440 monitor and graphics in 2 years. 3) I really like the pre-installed window panels for this monitor (and you can customize it in many ways. I prefer 2 panels side-by-side, but you can also do 3 panels side-by-side, 2 side-by-side with a 3 horizontal panel at the top or bottom, etc.). These panes allow you to automatically drag and drop windows (web browser, Word, Excel, etc.) without having to resize them manually (super cool for productivity)! I don't know if all ultrawide monitors do this (and most likely don't) as it is software developed by LG and comes with the monitor. 4) Games with additional left/right field of view really give you an advantage (if your game supports 2560x1080 resolution, which games like Doom, The Division, Zombie Army Trilogy and even Fallout 4 support --- with INI file setting) . Believe me once you play in ultra wide resolution. You will NEVER come back! 5) watch movies on this thing. breathtaking. Most movies are 21:9, making them ideal for ultra-wide monitors (although most TV shows have yet to catch up). features and price. Of course there are better monitors out there, but they cost WAY more to be honest. I'm not even sure I'll see much of a difference (without buying that modern high-end graphics card). Maybe 2018, but until then it's definitely BIG (not just "good") enough!
