I received the device quickly and couldn't wait to use it. I knew the salinity was low because we had a lot of rain. However, when I lowered the meter into the pool water, I got an error message every time. I called the manufacturer to see if I was doing something wrong. The manufacturer informed me that this is not a device for measuring the salinity of water in the pool. I said it was said right on the box! She then asked me if it was printed on the box or if it was a sticker. I said it was a sticker. That was the problem! She told me that this meter was not designed to measure pool water salinity, it was designed to measure TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), which is ALL the chemicals in your pool. This makes it virtually impossible to accurately determine the salinity of your pool. In fact, this gauge gave me no reading at all other than an error code as the TDS was above its reading capability.
