I was hesitant to get this to expand my smart home and really because I'm tired of losing remotes when I'm sleeping. In addition to the ceiling fan/light on the smart switch, I also have a large vertical fan that can be controlled remotely. This is the device I lose the remote for, but often want to turn it off and on...and often can't find the damn remote. So now I've added it to this smart IR and then to Alexa, I can just tell Alexa to disable/enable it. And while the app supports all of its functions, the Alexa integration actually only works for power (or 1 other function if you remap power). However, the app is much better because you can program all your remotes in it and either replace missing remotes or learn existing ones (for special functions)... which is handy because despite what's in their database, there are thousands of remote codes out there there are some devices that have some common features but not certain specific ones. When I mounted it on the wall I found that its range covered my entire massive master bedroom and I added everything I could control with the remote including TVs, monitors, my wife's vanity lamps and more... definitely a good must. have an addition for those who want to make their home smarter. Disconnecting and moving this smart IR receiver will reconnect to the Wi-Fi it's connected to in seconds. Didn't really need tech support as it's pretty easy to set up and use.
