I bought this accessory to flatten two moving edge plates for the top of a pole. The slabs are just over 10 feet long and about 35 inches wide overall. I'm almost done leveling one side of each board and I'm still getting enough chips. As such, it retained its sharpness quite well. The 2-1/4" diameter is an advantage as it gives you a wider cut with each pass. It would be nice if the 1/2" shank was a bit longer to increase the depth of cut that is independent of the type possible.router used.Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
