I love to cook for my family and I do it every day. Before ordering this thermometer, I intuitively cooked all the meats, checked the color of the juices, set the timer, did a taste test, etc. I'm so glad there's no more hassle! cooking sweet italian sausages. When I took it out of the box, the thermometer was ready to use right out of the box as the battery was built in. A spare battery was also included, which I think is very nice! It works when the probe is deployed. The Meat Temperature Handbook showed that sausages are done when they reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit. So I checked the temperature of my sausages and took them out of the pan in time. Cooking couldn't be easier. Highly recommended!
