I recently purchased a 50ft active cable and to my dismay due to the thickness of the cable it is not flush with the as usual wall, and pressing against the wall periodically made the image disappear (and immediately turn back on). Well, with this adapter I can run the cable to the back of the TV and push the TV against the wall, no more strain on the cables and connectors, and best of all, no more dropouts from the plug not hanging around! I was afraid it wouldn't work with my active cable due to its length (it's one of the longest non-fiber cables) but it has no problem carrying a 4k 60Hz signal!
