The product seems a little cheap but I was surprised at what it can do. You can program the thermometer to read different levels of EMS objects to make it more accurate. So if you measure a motor your EMC value is around 95, but if you take a skin measurement change it to 35. There is a chart that contains a number of different objects and describes what EMC is. should be set to a level you'll only find on more expensive points and firearms like the Fluke. I use mine primarily for shop use and to check the heat of high speed ski motors, and also use it to check the temp of my ski motor while skiing. Works well but for the money you can't argue!
