Review on πŸ”§ Versatile Extech EX470 True RMS Multimeter with Infrared Thermometer for Accurate Measurements by Bill Gomez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor product to test, measure and verify

This meter has many cool features but is VERY inaccurate reading ohms at low resistance. Some of the readings I need in the automotive industry are pretty low and this meter read 5-7 ohms while all other "known good" meters read 1 ohm. I contacted the manufacturer about this issue and all they offered was to recalibrate the meter for $125 plus $20 shipping. Meters cost $150. So they wanted me to pay almost the same price to fix the meter as a new one. I cannot support a product that the company that makes it will not repair once it is ready to use.

Pros
  • True RMS AC measurements
Cons
  • Obsolete model
