Best Value Multimeter

The backlight is amazing. The only criticism is that you have to disassemble the fuse to replace it. Also, no spare fuse box or fuses are included, so make sure you have a few spares.

Pros
  • Extended Capacitance, Frequency and Duty Cycle
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Poor product to test, measure and verify

This meter has many cool features but is VERY inaccurate reading ohms at low resistance. Some of the readings I need in the automotive industry are pretty low and this meter read 5-7 ohms while all other "known good" meters read 1 ohm. I contacted the manufacturer about this issue and all they offered was to recalibrate the meter for $125 plus $20 shipping. Meters cost $150. So they wanted me to pay almost the same price to fix the meter as a new one. I cannot support a product that the company

  • True RMS AC measurements

Barley is best heard at temperature and humidity

Pros: Almost everything works well enough for general use. Cons: I have an unexpected bug that annoys me so much that I score even worse. But I want to be fair. Speaker barley is audible. Any ambient noise will drown out the speaker. You must physically look at the display during continuity testing.

Pros
  • Enhanced Capacitance, Frequency and Duty Cycle Capabilities
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

OK meter; high value

Received defective unit (3000+ non-contact IR reading). Will come back for an exchange. I have the same meter at work and have had no problems with it. Update: Turns out the meter comes with a dead battery which is why the non-contact thermometer isn't working. Replaced the battery and everything is fine. The only thing I don't like about this gauge is the dual HOLD/Backlight button - to turn on the backlight, press and hold the button for a second, but that also puts it in place. HOLD mode, so

Pros
  • Non-contact IR thermometer measures the surface temperature of objects that are not safe to touch or difficult to reach
Cons
  • Requires socket

Low quality. Expensive.

I added this to my wish list and received it as a gift. At first I was impressed with the specs but now I know it's a waste of money so my apologies to the person who bought it for me. Right out of the box I had to bend the metal joint back into place. . The center post in one of the wire connectors was bent so it touched the edge and I couldn't connect the connector. The optional IR thermometer was a nice plus. At least that's what I thought until I tried it. At best, I'd say accuracy is…

Pros
  • Input fuse protection and miswire warning with audible and visual signals
Cons
  • Not sure
