Like many others, I'm always interested in getting the best bang for your buck. Especially on instruments that I use little or only to a limited extent. I figured that hopefully I wouldn't use the leak tester too often as that usually indicates you have some sort of problem. However, it was necessary for the troubleshooting I'm doing on the Turbo E30, so I took the plunge and decided it was worth the savings to buy a cheaper tool. Big mistake! It all started as a good Sunday afternoon getting my diagnosis and quickly turned into a nightmare on the very first cylinder I started on. When I wanted to unscrew the adapter, it quickly turned out that the hose fitting was turning in the threaded adapter. As a result, it is not possible to unscrew the screw connection from the inside of the cylinder head. After a few hours of painstaking work, I managed to unscrew the adapter in several ways. Given that, I would recommend spending the extra $$ to get a quality device. It could be a lot worse, especially if your spark plugs are deep in the cylinder head.
