You have to use component cables to connect your TV to switch it to HDMI. you didn't think about it before releasing this product? This thing is beyond imagination. Throughout the movie. sounds like the DVD is flying out of the player and hitting the wall. So if you buy one, make sure you have a spot where it can be covered and placed out of earshot (outside the room). with the door closed - a long HDMI cable may be required). I think the picture is ok. But in 1 out of 3 movies I watch, the screen randomly turns pink (sometimes green). If I go into the menu settings and toggle one of the dislike modes (480i, 720p, 1080i) then the screen flashes and then everything is fine (up to about a week). Once again I have to go into the menu and switch to another mode. I get freeze/skip like everyone else but not as often. Maybe once in 5 films. Verdict: If you choose this product, be prepared for the following: - Long setup times - Power button on the front that doesn't seem to do its job very well - Stuttering during movies - Random image turns green/pink - Very loud rattling during playback - Barely responsive to weak remote control (weighs about 1 ounce) - LEDs on front panel randomly lit/flashing day/night. Why? - It looks like Toshiba doesn't care about this device anymore (I think they gave up). I'm sure they understand it was a big mistake and don't want to spend more money on a terrible player. So I doubt the staff will make a new firmware version for it.
