Good for kayak welding, but the material loosens when hot, so don't press too hard during use, the "iron" part of the welder will bend back and the metal begins to separate. I expect it to only last a few long uses before failing (breaks). You don't have to press hard on most of the weld, but smoothing the edges at the end definitely helps. Not sure if it's a weak metal or too flimsy but definitely makes durability an issue. The included welding wires aren't super hard polyethylene, but they melt easily and quickly stick to my kayak. I used a blowtorch to melt them and apply them to the cracks and then using a welder I smoothed them out in the crack and around the edges.
