After using them for some time I have found that they are only useful as confirmation of what I see and what the spoke tension meter tells me. This is another data point to determine what is going on. This can help you set the wheel faster if you know how to convert what you see into information about the flex of the wheel. It won't help you tune the wheel better, except in the slightest degree.
