Review on ๐Ÿ” Amprobe 3474968 RLD-1 Refrigerant Leak Detector: Expert Solution for Detecting Refrigerant Leaks by Montez Parson

C bad batteries. PSU good

I had no problems with false alarms on this thing, as one reviewer noted. I'm very careful not to meet him, but I'm not sure if that would matter. I only have a few systems to test and luckily they came up negative, but I like the specs given. I also like that it comes with a carrying case and a calibration solution. The case isn't fancy, but it's almost always welcome, especially if you have extra stuff you want to keep with the main unit (like a calibration solution). This is not an exceptionally fashionable device in terms of looks or materials. but if it works, then it works. You really don't want to pay for fancy plastic. I really wonder why it has to accept C batteries. They're the same voltage as AA but supposedly less than mAh. Why not just use 2+2 AA batteries? Nobody else has a C and I don't want them handy. Oh, but it comes with a power adapter. Just the fact that it needs one is great. That's really nice too. You can always use an extension cord if you run out of C batteries, that's enough to give it back five stars!

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
