Review on 🔩 E-Z Lok SK40515 Helical Threaded Insert Kit, 304 Stainless Steel, M5-0.8 Thread Size, 7.5mm Length (Pack of 10) by Terry Gernes

Bought to fix a stripped thread in a magnesium chainsaw case. I installed the insert in a piece of aluminum before trying it on an $800 saw. First, the included drill bit was 6.2mm instead of 5.2mm. I didn't realize it at first, and the whole insert fell right into the hole instead of being screwed in! So I drilled another hole using a 13/64" bit which is only 1.5 thousandths smaller than the 5.2mm. I used the included tap to thread the hole and then used the insertion tool (the part with the curved handle and the slot). at the end) screw in the insert. After the insert was about a third of the way in, it began to stretch tightly. I went ahead and screwed it flush, and only then did I realize something was definitely wrong After a VERY hard pull and twisting I was able to get the tool out but I thought it was stuck forever So the driving tool turned out to be too big I sent the kit back and... asked for a replacement it arrived in 2 days (thanks revain prime!) the tooling is too big the packaging says the earbuds are made in uk and everything else is chinese it seems d there is a quality control problem at the factory, and someone puts the wrong components in the box. Everything turned out to be of decent quality, but someone doesn't do their job. I'm sure everything would be fine if there were the right details. Shame on me for trying to save $4 on a Helicoil branded kit that is made in the USA. It's a shame that 2 sets failed in a row, but I'm very grateful to Revain for the uncomplicated return.
