Absolutely adorable Tauntaune + awesome twist on Hot Luke!

I'm surprised this set doesn't have any reviews yet, but I'll give it some credit. To be honest I didn't pay much attention to this new set from LEGO at first glance. However, I took a closer look and realized that this Microfighter Tauntaun is a must have for my collection. The set consists of 205 parts and is suitable for children aged 6 and over. These are fairly simple builds that shouldn't pose much of a problem for the 6+ age group. It comes in two numbered bags with two instructions for use. This is great because two people can create different parts at the same time. The first guide is for AT-AT + Driver and the second is for Tauntaun + Luke. Despite its "micro" size, this set has plenty of detail and playability. Tauntaun features posable arms, a tail and a thong with printed eyes. On the side are mounts for Luke's lightsaber and binoculars, as well as a seat for Luke. It's really amazing that it's fully recognizable as Tauntaun and despite the low level of detail it does a great job. It's important to note that Tauntaun never appeared as a micro fighter, so he's new to this set. My daughter commented on how great the Tauntaune sat on my desk. The Luke Skywalker included in it is interesting as it looks like Lego did the right thing with 'Hot' Luke. In previous versions of Luke, Hoth had no underwear on his head. However, the hatch included in this set does and you can see in the photos how great he looks. As always, the LEGO print is fantastic and well detailed. Luke has a sigil on both sides and a reversible facial expression. The helmet is well detailed with a detachable visor that can be placed on the face or over the top of the helmet. Finally, Luke has a stud shooter, binoculars and a lightsaber. The included AT-AT Microfighter is also very funny. The head is fully articulated, as are the legs. There are printed elements on the control panel and on the front of the AT-AT head. Although I love Tauntaun a lot, AT-AT is still just a great game and I can definitely see that the kids are really loving it. The AT-AT driver is well detailed, as expected from LEGO. The driver's kit includes a stud shooter and binoculars. I would like to add that this set had a decent amount of additional items. There were several additional spikes for shooters. I have an extra lightsaber hilt, a visor for Luke's helmet, and a few small extra parts. In general, the set turned out to be fun and fast. I really like the details and have added the Luke minifigure and Microfighter Tauntaun skin. I'd say the $20 price tag isn't terrible, but like many LEGO Star Wars sets, it's more expensive than similar LEGO sets. The two instruction booklets are ideal for couples, siblings or parents and children who can build at the same time. For LEGO collectors, the Luke minifigure is great value, and Tauntaun is just too cute!
