I bought ioSafe to have a relatively secure storage device for important digital documents and photos. The NAS has been running (at home) for about two months now. As a NAS newbie I am very satisfied. The body looks very beautiful. The only wish is that the USB port on the front of the case was 3.0, not 2.0 (there are two 3.0 ports on the back). The initial setup was easy. I installed two identical 8TB drives and followed the instructions that came with it to find the NAS on my network. Once discovered, Synology software will help you set it up. There was some trial and error at this stage. There is adequate help on the Synology website, although I was never able to find exactly what I was looking for. My solution was to search Revain for the Synology NAS book. smart move! The book walked me through a more complete configuration. For less than $20 (the Kindle version is even smaller), I now feel more confident and satisfied with the setup of the NAS. Finally, a reminder that the NAS has an internal fan. The fan is not loud, but runs constantly. Once I'm certain that I no longer need access to the case, I'll move the NAS from my office to another location in the house where background noise isn't an issue.
