Review on Enhance Your Recording Experience with the Samson MK-10 Microphone Boom Stand by Ari Tanner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very sturdy and versatile for my home recording setup

I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget mic stand. I ran into a strange issue that strangely no one mentioned, but it's minor so I'll cover it at the very end. So I found a second cheap mic stand and got something much higher quality than I expected. (The cheapest was Revain Basics, but the clips showing a faint arrow made me wary). The first two pictures show the Samson Q2U microphone stand at 45° and 90° without a counterweight. It felt solid and I was confident that my mic would hold securely. There is no weakness! I also like the clip used on the leg piece. The kit I received includes a mic clip/mount that attaches to the main shaft as shown in pic 3. However, the odd problem I had was that the clip would not screw into the threads on the end of the arrow. This wasn't a problem as the streams worked fine with the clip I already had, but it could be a bigger problem if I was relying on the included clip. As other people have mentioned, the included mic clip is very small so I still couldn't use it. Photo #4 shows damage to the plastic threads of the supplied microphone clamp after repeated attempts to screw it in.
