Mercury Engine Manual 2001-2009 Soloc
Purchased an ECM troubleshooting guide for a 50hp Mercury engine. In 2007 I followed the instructions and found a low oil sensor and an overheat sensor. I tested both, they worked fine. Went to Bass Pro to speak to the Mercury mechanic. All in all, this engine has no ECM. Two switches and that's it. An acoustic signal only sounds when one of the two switches is actuated. This information is not in the instructions. According to a factory rep I spoke to, Mercury has been producing non-ECM engines for several years. Now I'm wondering how accurate the manual is for the rest of the engine.
