TrendNet TEW-818DRU Much Better with DD-WRT Firmware

The TrendNet TEW-818DRU is an AC-1900 Dual Band Wireless Router made in Taiwan and equipped with a Broadcom (Dual Band) equipped with a chipset. 800 MHz core), 128 MB RAM and 16 GB Flash, three internal antennas, four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one WAN port, one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.0 port. It's affordable and has modest claims. The router was tested with the original firmware, which remains buggy, slow, and simple. However, TrendNet encourages open-source DD-WRT compatibility. I found installing DD-WRT easy and straightforward as long as the correct process is followed and all the important information can be found online. Actually I downloaded the latest beta from DD-WRT FTP site. There's a standard caveat: Third-party firmware automatically voids the warranty, and if booted incorrectly it can completely ruin the router, rendering it unusable. Completely at your own risk. Good? The improvement in overall routing and wireless network performance when using DD-WRT is noticeable. After enabling beamforming and optimizing WiFi settings, the router provides stable and stable service at maximum streaming speeds. Latency can be slightly higher than other routers, but this is not a critical factor. Maybe this router isn't top of the range, but for a reasonable price and DD-WRT installed, it's more than acceptable. This is a moderate network and streaming router designed for a maximum of five busy devices. Some end users have reported overheating and unexpected reboots. I didn't experience excessive heat, although I rarely had more than three devices connected to the network at once. It's heating up, which is normal for routers, and has yet to restart on its own. In general, this router is recommended, but only with DD-WRT firmware installed.
