I already have a Yeti USB mic but I wanted another one so I wouldn't have to lug it from the office to the studio and back up and down the stairs. In short, I am very satisfied with the microphone. I've been working in TV and radio for over 30 years so sound quality is very important to me. I find the microphone to be excellent value for money and I like that it connects easily to a computer. It's perfect for voiceovers, webinars, etc. I needed a "manipulator arm" as well as a dampener to reduce noise. I chose the Blue Yeticaster. I have another arrow that is not as good as this one. The quality is really good and I know it will last as long as I need it. I had concerns when I first took it out of the box. I couldn't bend the joints. The instructions weren't clear. I watched a few videos on You Tube and understood what I need to do. Here is my process and it worked fine. First I found the spot where I wanted to place the bracket and tightened it. Then I flipped the lever, found the Phillips head screw and loosened the screw. that's the trick and the key. Loosen or tighten the Phillips head screw so the tension is not too tight. It still felt too tight, but I went ahead and put the lever on the clamp. TA Dah! seems to have worked. There were no instructions on how to properly apply the shock, but that makes sense. Just figure out which end should be on top and screw it on. There are also no instructions on how to properly attach the microphone, but it is logical. Inside the box is a small bag with the part you need to attach the mic to the shock mount. Has 2 washers. It's logical to figure out how to insert it into a round piece of metal sticking out in the middle of the shock absorber and screw it into the microphone. Finally, connect the microphone cable. There's a nice channel with snap-on clips that you can pull out to hide and store the cord. Connect your microphone to your computer. Once everything is in place, it's easy to adjust the 2 arm pieces to your liking. a connection that you can tighten and loosen to adjust to your liking. I like that the microphone boom can rotate 360 degrees. and it's very quiet when it's moving. no squeaky springs. I made a test recording and the sound is good. I highly recommend this article to anyone involved in any way with voice acting, from voice acting to webinars or podcasts. It's very user-friendly once you get the hang of it. ;-)
