I use the "Purple Power" cleaner that I bought here at Revain. Then let the splints dry and apply the Adam's bandage with the special applicator. Leave to dry for a few hours and reapply. You will find that even after 6 weeks the tires will be cleaned again with a pressure washer or even a garden hose. I highly recommend this product!
