Review on Bell Motivator Magnetic Resistance Trainer by Brandon Kraemer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Light, light, sometimes you may need to adjust something

Excellent for such a price. I wish I had bought one a year ago to ride my bike in the winter instead of the exercise bike that used to dominate our tiny den. In fact, it's easy enough for me to haul my bike 30 feet back and forth to the living room 3 mornings a week. A word of caution: I think because I move a lot, my bike jumped off the posts mid-ride one morning. I would suggest checking the fit from time to time if you move (or don't move) the bike at all. Advantages: * Inexpensive. * Reasonably easy. Too heavy for me to easily lift and move the bike and machine together, but light enough to lug the bike around while riding the bike on the front wheel.* Small footprint. When used, it doesn't take up much space. If you want to store it (off the bike) it folds even smaller.* Adjusting the frictional resistance allows me to go from very low to high resistance. Maybe not enough for a pro, but good for me, a middle-aged man who basically wants to exercise my aging heart, especially when paired with some cycling gear. from scratches. I don't mind it much, but if you have a good bike you might appreciate it.* Easy to assemble. It took me a minute to understand the instructions, but I got up and started pedaling fairly quickly. Definitely easier to mount if you have a second pair of hands to steady the bike and line up the bindings properly. But in extreme cases it can also be done alone. Bad: * It's noisy. Yes, all of these reviews are correct. It's not rocket volume, but I'd say it's close to blender volume. The downstairs neighbor hasn't complained yet, but the volume is one of the reasons I drag him into the living room - it's less likely to wake anyone downstairs. I put on headphones (not earbuds) to watch TV, otherwise the volume on the TV must be so loud it would wake me dead. . But I'm not willing to blame the product as I carry it around the house quite a bit and I don't think it should be *quite* that portable*. front wheel. One last point, the trainer will raise the rear wheel maybe 3-4 inches, and if you don't raise the front wheel the same amount, you'll end up with sore arms and shoulders. (And I should embarrassingly add that the extra height will force short people like me to stretch out a bit to get on the bike without tipping it over.) I tried tucking a few large books under the front wheel , but I found that they slipped a bit. So I found a small plastic container (installed upside down) that works quite well. I'm too stingy to spend another $20 or more on a few racks. But I would recommend that you think about it or find a better solution. Maybe glue some 2x4 blocks together? In general a good buy.
