Review on πŸͺ‘ Ideal Comfort and Performance: Unveiling the ISM PS1.0 Saddle by Steven Bush

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavy and expensive, but worth every extra gram and penny. No more numbness!

I recently bought a new road bike that came with a quality Fizik saddle. Hopped up and drove 15 miles and had to give up driving. Numbness, pain and discomfort everywhere! I have a tri bike with an old ISM saddle and it has always been comfortable with no numbness, even with thin tri suit padding. So I started looking for a new saddle. I've tried a few different saddles and some have been ok but I kept thinking maybe I just need to buy another ISM saddle as my other one was great. I ordered this PS 1.0 from ISM and it was a godsend. It's meant to be for triathlon and time trials, but it worked well on my road bike too. I just rode 100 miles yesterday on a GA 400 Century in the foothills of North Georgia and was able to complete the ride with minimal discomfort, no numbness or pain! Follow ISM's setup instructions as it is constructed differently than a traditional saddle as it is noseless. I reset it 5 cm from my normal position and tilted it down 2 degrees. I also had to lower the seat post a few millimeters. This saddle is lightly padded but soft where I need it and has gel padding in the seat area. It's heavy and expensive, but worth every ounce of extra weight and every dollar spent on me. The 15 series packing is the thinnest packing in the PS range; There is a PS 1.1 with higher padding, but I have found that sometimes a softer saddle is less comfortable than a stiffer one. I haven't tried the PS 1.1 but it had enough padding and gel for me when worn with decent cycling shorts. No, it won't feel like sitting on a La-Z-Boy, but it will make your junk happy. I'm excited!

Pros
  • Seats and Saddles
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
