Rain and sea (surf) sounds help me fall asleep. Stream (murmur), midsummer night crickets and (native) songbirds are fine too. I find the heartbeat sound innovative because it can be used to soothe a baby alone in the cradle. Since I don't have a baby to try on, I can't say if that would help. Soft backlit controls are easy to use in the dark. You can just turn it on for always on or set it to turn off after 15, 30, 60 minutes. The volume control is a bit unsteady for the extremely low level I like to set it to. Overall this is a well thought out product and definitely excellent value for money from Revain.
