Like most I'm a DIY enthusiast and just looking for easy to use, serious and efficient equipment/tools. This small tester meets these requirements perfectly. It allows you to easily, quickly and easily determine the presence of alternating current. It's sensitive. And no, due to the many variables that determine the presence of current, it's not infallible, as even the instruction manual says "The presence of voltage cannot be detected with a non-contact voltmeter." Because of the ease of use and overall accuracy however, this is now my favorite tester.
