Review on ThermoPro Wireless Digital Thermometer Grilling by Jeremy Edwards

Don't waste your money

I bought this unit a few years ago and it has never worked properly. Don't get me wrong, choosing a program is easy. And the device sends the temperature from the sensor to the remote receiving device via the transmitting device. It's just that the temperature sent is related to the actual temperature of the item you inserted the probe into. Pure Fantasy. Useless. I haven't used it to sear steaks in a while. However, as punishment I have to be a glutton, because every Thanksgiving I pull out the device and, in the hope of Charlie Brown, stick the probe into a turkey's chest. The receiving unit has not received a signal from the transmitter for a long time, but I carefully record the tempo. Only now have I learned to check the temperature of the probe with a really accurate thermometer with an instant reading. Here are some example numbers comparing the two (probe/moment): 43 / 4698 / 122112 / 128131 / 152134 / 155133 / 162 Note that this bearish trend line is normal as the probe temp falls and the meat temp rises. This happened every time I cooked Thanksgiving turkey. Very annoying.
