The problem with this particular version (tongue weight 600 pounds) is that the ball mount and stem don't match the springs. The ball joint and stem are the same heavy-duty devices used with much heavier weight springs. The shaft is solid steel and weighs 40 pounds with the ball joint. Total weight with springs and all hardware is 80 lbs. That's a lot of unnecessary weight to deal with every time you want to hitch a trailer. and a lot of extra tongue weight that then has to be distributed by the springs. Pull load capacity is only 50 pounds including springs and all hardware. My trailer weighs 3700 lbs with a TW 400. I would still have a margin of safety, but in much more acceptable sizes.
