Review on 🚚 EAZ LIFT 48051 Elite Bent Bar Weight Distributing Hitch with Adjustable Ball Mount and Shank (600 lbs) - Ultimate Towing Stability! by Hector Smith

Stem and ball mount are much heavier than they should be

Eaz-Lift 48051 600lb Elite Bent Bar Distributor Coupler with Adjustable Ball Mount and Shaft The coupler and springs are very good quality and are built to last. The problem with this particular version (tongue weight 600 pounds) is that the ball mount and stem don't match the springs. The ball joint and stem are the same heavy-duty devices used with much heavier weight springs. The shaft is solid steel and weighs 40 pounds with the ball joint. Total weight with springs and all hardware is 80 lbs. That's a lot of unnecessary weight to deal with every time you want to hitch a trailer. and a lot of extra tongue weight that then has to be distributed by the springs. This compares the total weight of the slightly lighter system (500 lb drawbar weight) CURT 17345 500 lb Trunnion Weight Distribution Hitch. Pull load capacity is only 50 pounds including springs and all hardware. My trailer weighs 3700 lbs with a TW 400. I bought a 600 lbs load distribution box to have headroom in case I have additional loads at the front of the trailer or behind the tractor. But now I wish I had gone with the Β£500 unit. I would still have a margin of safety, but in much more acceptable sizes.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Vulgarity
