The package was complete (nothing missing) and everything worked. Initial set up was easy as there were no problems pairing the cameras to the NVR, connecting the NVR to a monitor and router. The user manual covers most screens and functions, but is terse and the wording confusing at times. Setting options are not always described nor the impact of changing the setting. I was surprised to see that the cameras had both a power and ethernet connection cables. This will require drilling a larger hole for concealed cable mounting. Power cable is short (2m/6ft), so extension or rewiring may be necessary.I encountered more motion detection events than expected (>200/day), so I thought the PIR detection may be malfunctioning. Tuning the motion detection is a tedious trial and error process. I can reduce these events by adjusting the camera sensitivity and area edit, but then it would not detect "real" events (such as slow moving wildlife, cars and people). I've come to the conclusion that wind, blowing snow and moving tree shadows must be PIR detected events, which eliminates any advantage of PIR detection in minimizing false alarms (the reason I wanted a PIR enabled system). Therefore, I'm giving this product just an "OK" rating for usefulness, since I must sift through many false alarms to find the few "real" motion events.
