These are the most comfortable writing pens I have found. However, they are not a standard pencil size and not the width of the Ticonderoga Triwrite. These are medium-width pencils that require a sharpener with a wide opening. They're not huge by any means, but so much so that the triangular shape calls for a larger pencil sharpener. Plus, they're surprisingly handy when your hands get tired from regular pencils. If you like wooden pencils, you can't beat these Triconderoga. As for the sharpener. Using a sharpener with a blade and a large hole fails miserably. It does a great job with a wooden case but ruins the wires. They're convenient, reusable, and cheaper than these but pink erasers that gnaw through paper.
