The handlebar bottle holders (also known as leg bags) are great for storing more than just water. I've used my fine on snacks, a camera, and even an open cup or glass stand for the occasional outing. This comes in handy when items are easily accessible and (with the drawstring closed) reasonably secure. Shorter riders may have issues with knee room, but that wasn't an issue for me. It attaches to the bike with a fixed Velcro strap at the bottom on one side and includes two Velcro straps that can be positioned on the shoulder strap. Loops for attaching to the steering wheel and/or removing the steering wheel. I used a larger strap around the stem, but the small strap was too short to bypass my 31.8mm bar. The fixed strap isn't long enough to attach under the top tube of my carbon frame, but I managed to attach it to the head tube under the stem. (If my stem was low, the strap would probably be low enough to fit through my frame.) With only two attachment points, it still rides very securely. The mesh pockets offer a nice extra storage space and the elastic that secures them seems pretty solid. Not sure how effective the insulation is, but the foil inside makes it easy to clean. My first and favorite barrel bag is from Revelate Designs - although very similar in size and features to this one, it is slightly lighter and of better quality. , but it costs $30 more than this bag. This bag is 90% good for 40% of the cost. The quality is fit for purpose and I would have no hesitation in using this bag for a long bike ride. I love keg bags and this one offers a high level of quality at a modest price.
